Brand Guidance for Independent Assessment Services

FedRAMP allows the use of the FedRAMP name and logo for independent assessment services (formerly referred to as Third-Party Assessment Organizations or 3PAOs) under the following conditions:

  1. An organization must be a FedRAMP Recognized independent assessment service and maintain that designation in order to use the FedRAMP name and logo.
  2. A FedRAMP Recognized independent assessment service can refer to themselves in the following ways:
    • FedRAMP Recognized independent assessment service
    • FedRAMP independent assessment service
    • FedRAMP Recognized independent assessor
    • FedRAMP independent assessor
  3. An independent assessment service can use the FedRAMP name and/or FedRAMP logo to designate themselves as a FedRAMP Recognized independent assessment service.
  4. An independent assessment service will receive an official letter from the FedRAMP management office designating their recognition status before they can use the FedRAMP logo in the manner described above.
  5. An independent assessment service must have an active listing on the FedRAMP Marketplace.
