Certification Class
Describes the amount of documentation provided by the cloud service provider and level of commitment for ongoing maintenance and reporting activities for a FedRAMP Certification. In order of increasing requirements, there are Class A, B, C, and D Certifications.
Class D (High)
Type
20x certification is a modern cloud-native approach that is new in 2026. Rev5 certification is a modified version of the legacy approach that will be retired in the future.

Path
Program certification path is directly provided by the FedRAMP program. Agency certification path requires a federal agency to authorize the service in advance, following the legacy FedRAMP process.
