Self-Hosted Industry Engagement Participation

FedRAMP will engage with all stakeholders regarding self-hosted and hybrid-hosted requirements via the FedRAMP Request for Comment (RFC) process. The RFC processes ensures equal access and consideration for all stakeholders.

In addition, FedRAMP has offered the opportunity for direct engagement to a subset of key FedRAMP stakeholders as follows:

  • Cloud service providers with existing FedRAMP Certifications at Class C or Class D who have at least 15 agency uses on record by FedRAMP and appear to operate their own datacenter facilities based on the information readily available to FedRAMP. FedRAMP identified 12 qualifying cloud service providers and asked them if they would like to participate and 4 responded in the affirmative.

  • Independent assessment services that have assessed more than 20 total cloud service offerings. This is a change from RFC-0033 which proposed direct engagement only with independent assessment services of the qualifying cloud service providers. 8 independent assessment services will be asked to participate.
